Håpe på takes a noun (håpe på sol), håpe at a clause (Jeg håper at du kommer) and håpe å a verb (håpe å vinne). In messages, Norwegians often drop the subject: Håper alt er bra! The noun is et håp. Past: håpet, har håpet.
