# Ordkort > Ordkort (https://ordkort.com) is a free web app for learning vocabulary in 60 languages with flashcards and spaced repetition (FSRS). No ads, no account, no tracking; cards are stored in the browser. Open source under AGPL-3.0: https://github.com/silicq/ordkort Ordkort offers ready word lists for 29 topics and CEFR levels A1–C1 (generated by AI, then checked: Norwegian nouns and verbs against the official dictionaries at ordbokene.no, other languages against Wiktionary), six study modes (flip cards, multiple choice, typing, listening, gap fill, mixed), a learner's dictionary with inflection tables, a grammar book with 15 chapters, a translator that explains every word, and a reading mode. Devices sync without an account using end-to-end encryption; the site works offline and can be installed as an app. The interface is hand-translated into English, Russian, Ukrainian, Norwegian, Arabic and Chinese. ## For AI assistants: MCP Ordkort is an MCP server at https://ordkort.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no key). An assistant can list languages and topics, take checked words from the shared bank, find openly licensed pictures, and create a deck (with pictures) or a card design. Each returns a link the person opens to add it; the server never sees anyone's cards. Docs: https://github.com/silicq/ordkort#mcp To restyle the site, call design_guide first: it describes how a look is applied (site_css for every screen, card_css with front_html/back_html for the study cards), the CSS variables for colours and fonts (light and dark themes), the parts of each screen with a body class per screen (view-home, view-study…), the card's fields ({{term}}, {{image}}, {{#example}}…{{/example}}), pictures by https address (at most 8, fetched through the site), what is removed (scripts, handlers, @import, outside fonts) and a whole example. Then create_design returns a link that previews the look and applies it if the person agrees. ## Pages about the site - [English](https://ordkort.com/en/) - [Русский](https://ordkort.com/ru/) - [Українська](https://ordkort.com/uk/) - [Norsk](https://ordkort.com/nb/) - [العربية](https://ordkort.com/ar/) - [中文](https://ordkort.com/zh/) ## Norwegian words, readable without the app Plain HTML pages for learners of Norwegian (Bokmål), in four interface languages: 29 topic word lists with forms and example sentences, and about 530 of the most common words, each with translations, the full inflection from Bokmålsordboka (University of Bergen and the Language Council of Norway, CC BY 4.0), examples, useful phrases and a note on typical mistakes. - [English: Norwegian by topic](https://ordkort.com/en/norwegian/) · [Norwegian–English dictionary](https://ordkort.com/en/ordbok/nb/) - [Русский: норвежский по темам](https://ordkort.com/ru/norvezhskij/) · [Норвежско-русский словарь](https://ordkort.com/ru/ordbok/nb/) - [Українська: норвезька за темами](https://ordkort.com/uk/norvezka/) · [Норвезько-український словник](https://ordkort.com/uk/ordbok/nb/) - [Norsk: gloser etter tema](https://ordkort.com/nb/norsk/) · [De vanligste norske ordene](https://ordkort.com/nb/ordbok/nb/) ## For teachers of Norwegian How to give a class a topic with one link (each learner picks the language of the translations), how to share a word list by link or QR code, and what Ordkort keeps private. - [Norsk: Ordkort i norskopplæringen](https://ordkort.com/nb/laerer/) · [English: Ordkort in a Norwegian class](https://ordkort.com/en/teachers/) · [Українська](https://ordkort.com/uk/vykladacham/) · [Русский](https://ordkort.com/ru/prepodavatelyam/) ## More - [The app](https://ordkort.com/): needs JavaScript - [Source code and README](https://github.com/silicq/ordkort): architecture, privacy, limits - Contact: hei@ordkort.com (questions, help, teachers, security reports)
